When my daughter was in college, she took a course in psychology. Early in the semester, she mentioned to her professor that her parents (my wife and I) worked in the health field, producing video programs on a number of topics, including mental health, in particular, borderline personality disorder. She asked if her professor would be interested in looking at some of our work to see if it might be helpful in supporting her teaching curriculum. The professor scoffed at the suggestion, essentially telling her it was a waste of time to talk about BPD, since nothing could be done to help “those” people.

Here’s one woman’s response to being confronted by such attitudes , written in a blog posted on TheMighty.com by Mio Elenie, who is determined to change the conversation about living with BPD.

bpdvideo.com is an information and resource hub dedicated to raising awareness and hope about Borderline Personality Disorder.
